We design several PCBAs per month. These include embedded systems, radios of many sorts using certified modules or ICs. We have used nearly every microcontroller family over the years and have development tools for all the common types.
For simple PCBAs, we can do a schematic and layout in a day or two (we do all our work in-house), and have a stuffed board in 4-5 days. These are handy for fixtures or to test out a circuit.
Having programmers around is useful and, we have a very good 3D printer in our labs. It is common for us to fab a PCBA and print a box to hold it.
